Just curious before I go buy the materials if anyone has tried this? If so, does it work well? If not, any better ideas for a cheap slider??

Thanks in advance

Well, It's $20 and if it doesn't slide perfectly...it was $20. Also you could easily covert that to a skater dolly.

It's not perfect but does work decent enough for now, and with very little actual building / cutting / assembly required it is one of the easiest inexpensive sliders to make. I mounted an old Bogen photo head with quick release plate on the grate and also used some white lithium grease to help it move smoother, which helped a little but not as much as I had hoped.

I've found the Ts at Lowes and Home Depot but so far have only bought 1/2" Ts for an other project.
I haven't really made sure they have the 2" but I suspect they do.
