What can i do with m2t files

Hi - What do I do with the M2T files that HDV split creates - how can I edit them without reducing quality - My premier Elements does not recognise them ?

Premiere Elements 3.0 supports HDV natively. There is also an AVISynth Plugin for Premiere that could be used, but I´m not sure if it works with newer versions.
