The problem you'd have with attaching an SLR lens to a camcorder (besides actually getting it attached) is the crop factor. Because lenses are made to project an image onto a 35mm image sensor, very small sensors like the ones in camcorders would cause extreme crop, resulting in an unusably zoomed image. Even if you used a <4mm lens, you would only be in standard-zoom range on most camcorders, and with few benefits. In the end, you just don't need SLR size or quality glass on a camcorder
Sony, however, has a different idea. They're repackaging the NEX-5 into a camcorder body, allowing the camcorder to be consumer-level, but still have interchangeable lenses and a huge sensor. This new camcorder is called the NEX-VG10. As I said before, it is essentially a repackaged interchangeable-lens point-and-shoot, which is very different from a standard camcorder.
