Hello

Has anyone achieved to mount the HV20 upside down on a SGpro yet? I'm thinking about doing exactly that, because the camera is almost smaller than the SGpro and it would save me all converting hazzle. What do you guys think and what do I need for it?

Cheers,
muroshi

i don't have an sgpro, but i do have a brevis. and i dont think it matters what lens adapter you have, flipping the canon hv20 is a good idea. saves you time from doing it in post.

sure the controls aren't THAT convenient doing it upside-down. but, setting the exposure lock and pushing the record button are really the only thing you will need to do.

i say do it.:hv20-smilie77:

Exposure lock? Aren't you using cinemode?

My problem is more the technical way to solve this, because I have two left hands. :) Pics? Instructions?

muroshi,

If you don't want to spring for an external monitor hung upside-down, you could always try the flip hack (http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=429).

The flip hack seems a bit risky :hv20-smilie81:

With the joystick.

Where exactly? I found brightnes, but only + and - and it doesn't show values? :hv20-smilie51:

push the joystick in -- like a button -- then scroll down until you get to exposure (you'll only have exposure and audio) when you get to exposure, press UP and you've locked the exposure, you can then scroll side to side to increase or decrease exposure.

The cellphone trick lets you lock frame rate along with exposure (which is preferable for shooting 24p.

because I have two left hands. Pics?
Well.. I don't think this is you, but two left hands does make and interesting picture.

Thanks a lot mate. Is this handy thing complicated?

LOL, nice picture.

How do you guys power your external monitors? NiCad accus are very expensive.

Where do I get the cheapest rails? I thought about mounting another rail support above the SGpro one. What could be used for mounting it so that I could play with the distance?
