you said "this week" does this imply it it is in theaters at this time?
Janke
2010 July 22nd, 15:49
No, I meant that if you've watched the movie this week, e.g. from DVD or tape, that first image might have stayed in your memory.
Hint: it's not a 21st century movie. (Neither is it a 20th Century movie... ;))
Janke
2010 July 22nd, 17:29
No.
Time for some shuteye, so keep guessing. Next pic tomorrow before or around 08:00 UTC

Is it a scene from this (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4a/Muybridge_race_horse_gallop.jpg) movie? :hv20-smilie79:

LOL! No, about a hundred years younger than that... ;)
Back to guessing:
First, a hint: The film is based on an award-winning novel.
A new screenshot, too - so far, you've got stars, you've got the sun, now it's time for:

Do you mean the one with Raquel Welch, or the one with Carole Landis as eye candy? (Anyway, in both cases the answer is no...)
Stars, sun and moon - how about a little good old earth:

Well, you did say it wasn't a 21st or 20th century film. :)
I didn't see the new one so I guess that's the one I was guessing. Now I need to wait for another guess before I make even a bigger idiot of myself. :)
Janke
2010 July 23rd, 13:18
Not quite, I said it isn't a 20th Century film. Sometimes, capitalization is important. ;)
(The newer one from 1966, stars Welch. But Landis did look pretty nice in 1940...)
Those films are cut classics now, and as a hint:
So is the film you're trying to guess!
Janke
2010 July 23rd, 15:28
I of course meant cult classics.... dang, edits disabled...
Pali
2010 July 23rd, 15:52
I get it: Century :)
Yea, that editing... I wanted to add that I used 'guess' three times in those two sentences. No can do.
I think they remade it a few years ago. AGAIN.
Janke
2010 July 23rd, 17:21
According to IMDB, there are indeed two films named Century, 1990 & 1993, but no...
So, all of you, keep guessing. But guess what - Pali can guess again only after others have guessed.
(That makes it four times! ;) )
New screenshot after my steroscopic wiewport shutters re-open, around 8:00 UTC...

Bambi?
Janke
2010 July 24th, 01:01
No, it's not "Princess Bambi's Neverending Deathwish".... ;)
It will become easier soon, but here's a recap of all clues so far:
- made before the year 2000
- not a 20th Century (Fox) production
- based on an award-winning novel
- considered a cult classic by many (now, I double-checked that the "L" is there, even though, sadly, many classics are cut...)
I'm up early, so here's the next picture, a little sooner than promised:

Now, you can all dicker who is going to post the next game...
PS: The next pix would have clinched it for sure:

As the (undisputed) winner, I nominate Janke to start the next game. Man's got good taste in movies.

OK, Looks like this is becoming a profession, not a hobby... but yes, I'll do one again.
