I know this isn't HVXX related, but still cool none the less. With the use of a an OWLE iPhone mount the iPhone can utilize 35mm adapters. It provides a 37mm filter thread...interesting possibilities...

Nice, but the grain in the corners is a bit distracting... :)

I wonder if the grain is a product of the phone camera or the adapter...Doesn't the iPhone4 have HD capabilities?

In the clip it said HD, but they were shooting in fairly low light at times, so the gain was kicking in. There was a bit of vignetting as well, and the adapter was a static one by the looks of it. It seemed to be hard to focus, like they were using a fast lens set on maximum aperture, so that made it difficult to watch as well. Still, it is very interesting to see something like that with the shallow DoF. :hv20-smilie03:

Looks like the app they used provides some setting for the camera so focus and exposure can be locked...also looks like the image can be mirrored with that app as well...interesting...

Yeah, that makes sense. The vignetting is the adapter...I have seen test footage from the EnCinema before and vignetting in apparent in some of the footage. I do believe it is a static adapter as well. It would be interesting to see another adapter being used with this setup.

Some better footage surfaces. The Encinema adapter itself isn't all that great (in comparison to many others) so it is hard to tell, it would be cool if someone tried this with another adapter.

Footage looks better than a lot of the adapter combos with the HV cameras I've seen.

So who's going to be the first person to ever create a short film using only the iphone and 35mm adapter?

Someone is looking to shoot, starting soon w/P. Bloom in the Cinematographer's seat on the Kickstarter.com website
here (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reece/the-first-iphone-4-cinematic-film?pos=25&ref=search).

Be well,
