First post here-

I'm in the process of buying an HV20 but I was wondering if there are good places to buy one with a kit. B&H has a kit for $1699 or so but it's out of stock. I'm looking to pick up a wide angle (.7x) lens, UV, polarizer, and a better mic than the internal one. From what I've read here on the site, Canon stuff is a good route on the .7x lens and maybe the mic. Can you guys point me in a good direction for a HV20 with a kit. I assume it's cheaper to buy that way. A mic with a fairly high dB tolerance would be best since much of my filming will be in 100dB+ enviroments. I guess I could put a muff on it...

Thanks for any help- Great site you've got here.

As a rule [which can be broken] I'd advise against buying kits.
You will normally be better off buying items individually and EXACTLY the ones you want.
The problem with kits is that there are 1000000 different possible combinations, and the likelihood that the offered combo is exactly what YOU'd want is pretty slim....

Research, and get the stuff individually....unless of course, you find a kit that includes EVERYTHING you'd have chosen also, and at a good price.

Thanks Mal. Yeah, I've basically decided that. After all what the hell am I going to do with an extra crummy tripod?
