Im still new to the Xha1 and altho i love the color and image of the camera, i still cant figure out how to give it a good film look. It seems like whenever i color the image it becomes way to dark to watch. The pics posted below is the best i have done so far, i was just hoping to get some ideas on what to do to the coloring. thanks

You could desaturate the picture a bit, add a bit of contrast using the Levels and playing a bit with the three-way color corrector, you can achieve some pretty cool results. Read here (http://prolost.com/blog/2008/3/23/save-our-skins.html) and here (http://library.creativecow.net/articles/maschwitz_stu/red-giant-blockbuster-film-look/video-tutorial.php), might help you. These tutorials use Colorista plugin, but you can achieve the same results directly in Sony Vegas or even in After Effects.
Doesn't look too dark to me either. You have guys with dark hair, dark eyes, dark shirts on a purple back ground. The skin tones and those other colors are going to show that contrast.
Usually a film look is fairly saturated, especially compared to the 'flat' default settings on the A1. If it bothers you, you might take what you have there and reduce the contrast just a tad.
