Need Help Audio/Video Settings in Final Cut Pro

Ok,

Ive been looking around and havent found it, so if someone already posted this, please forgive me. I am using Final Cut Pro and have had no problem capturing and controlling the HV20 in the software when connected via firewire, but i am not able to "print to tape".

I have the camera connected via the firewire cable, the cam set to "VCR" mode, and it displays HDV on the screen with the firewire connection icon but after FCP starts to play the video, i can never get it to display on the camera. If it try to record it gives me an error to check HDV/DV connection (on the camera's screen)

Any ideas? I know it has to be some setting that i am missing. any help will be appreciated

I am so excited to actually know the answer to one of the questions posted here, that I am not going to look to see if it has been posted before...

1) As you said, start by powering up in "Play" Mode
2) Press the function button (func) and "set" on the first option - Record Pause
3) Thumb over to Execute and click "set" again.

Now do your print to tape and FCP will take control of the camera as it should.
