Top Cover Removel

I want to clean the viewfinder on my HV 20. All sources here and elsewhere indicate the top cover is easily removed once the four screws behind the tape cover and the four screws securing the accessory shoe. I have removed these screws yet I cannot free the top cover. I am concerned regarding damaging my camera so I am soliciting help and any comments regarding cleaning of the viewfinder.

Any help and/or advice is appreciated.

If I understand, he has taken apart the cam a few times, and should have a good idea of how to do it...

After removing the screws (all 8) the cover still won't release--I do not want to break something--A video I viewed on-line suggests after removing the screws the top cover lifts off. I want to clean the view finder.
