Finally got the money together to get my HV20!!! woooo ..ordered it Yesterday from http://www.equipmentexpress.co.uk £599 ! plus £29 extra for the bigger HL-2L14 battery. I ordered just after Lunchtime yesterday and it came this morning around 8: 30 .( it came with 2 year gurantee - repairs and warranty)

Also some nice free stuff too like a Camera bag , mini tripod thingy , extra battery and free tape !!! I feel great!! I can finally get to the filming and adding to the forum properly with my own experience

It just goes to show! I paid £699 from Equipment Express in May.
They are a good bunch and easy to deal with (based as they are in my home town) and they are camera experts - not just box shifters. The parent company is Kamera (at the same address)
If, in the unlikely event, you need to send the camera for repair, just remind EE that ONLY Canon can repair HD cameras at the moment.
The other repair shops like Lehmanns need to invest in training and expensive set up equipment before they can carry out repairs on HD cameras.
Having said that, the Canon service is very good.

For EU users there are really good prices to be had in Germany - use e.g. idealo.de to find online-retailers. Currently the HV20 sells for about 750 €.

The only disadvantage of German internet shops is that they rarely accept credit cards, so you have to pay by bank transfer in advance. It works, I've done it before, but you'll want to stick to the ones with good reps.

Yes I also recomend them - I have bought both the HV10 and HV20 from them - they gave me an extra battery for being a return customer :)

Shame the price has gone down now but hey thats always going to happen. I couldnt put a price on getting superior shots of my new baby :)
