hello
i was wondering what to chose a canon VIXIA HF S11 with Convergent Design Nano Flash! HDMI or a canon XH-A1s 3CCD
if price is not a problem what would give a better image quality?
thank you

The nano-flash allows you to record up to 280mbps (http://www.convergent-design.com/products.asp?SectionID=2)...but it would take such a PC to edit it after...
I'd suggest you to go with an XH-A1s and maybe upgrade it with a nano-flash after..that way you'll have all the manual controls and the ability to shoot with more video quality/mbps with the nano-flash.
my opinion, i'd go with the XH-A1s first, and then see if you really need more after...

the xha1s does not have hdmi so one can not buy a nano hdmi and use it with this camcorder

Yes, you'd need an XH G1 to do that... and at that price, I'd just buy an EX1.

You do mean the Sony and not the old Canon Hi8 EX1..correct? :hv20-smilie87:
I'd go HMC40 and nano.
If I had a budget of about $6k, HMC150 and nano.

Yeah, HMC40 is quite sharp, but HMC150 is better in low light. I wouldn't use the HMC150 with a nano though, since everyone knows it doesn't shoot the sharpest video. Comapred to the XH A1, the only reason they're equal is because the HMC150 uses AVCHD instead of HDV. If you had a 6k budget, just buy the EX1. If you really really require that kind of scientific color accuracy, add on the nanoflash.
