Promaster? Does it suck?

I finally got a Canon 400D on the cheap but all I have is the crappy kit lens. I found a Promaster F mount telephoto lying around. I was going to ebay it but I can get a AI->EF adapter for about $10.
Does this lens suck? I find no info on it.
