I followed all the directions in the Mac/FCP workflow thread, but for some reason Inverse Telecine is always greyed out in the project tab.
If I do the setting before selecting my quicktime clip, I can select inverse telecine, but as soon as I select the file I'm trying to inverse telecine... it greys out again.
I'm using FCP 5.1.4, I imported the clips as explained in the thread...
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here.

A couple options:
1. The HV20 wasn't actually set to 24P mode, so there isn't a 24P cadence recognized by JES.
2. The first time I used JES, mine was greyed out as well. I think I just toggled one of the settings on/off and then it showed up. Pretty low tech, but that's what happened to me.
Good luck.

Yes, the camera was filming in 24P and cinema mode as well.
I've toggled everything I can possibly toggle... still greyed out.
I'm starting to think JES is just not recognizing the fact that I recorded in 24p. I'm importing with easy set up 1080i60, and just importing via firewire. i am positive I'm shooting in 24p with cine mode, and yet I think JES is not recognizing it as 24p footage when I try to import it to JES, hence why it's greyed out.
When I playback the footage the screen reads "HDV" on the camera, but it's a different icon than the HDV 24p icon, which looks like it's inside a film frame.
Any ideas? I'm stumped.

My workflow is:
1. For capture (mpeg) I use DVHSCap
2. MPEGStreamclip to AIC
3. JES Deinterlacer (too bad JES doesn't support mpeg, so we could skip #2)
Maybe your initial capture is causing the problem? You could try the above method on a short capture to see if it works.
I'm still debating on my NLE, so this is my workflow for now.
