Do we need a pm quota?

The messages can't be that big and I don't see why we really need a limit. I am about half way through mine and I always like to keep old messages for reference.

I doubt many people would go over the limit so removing the quota won't create much extra server use.

Is there an easy way to make a backup of PMs if I need to remove some?

Cheers,

Steve

Yeah, if you could figure out a way to allow us to download the PMs, that'd be cool.

Copy/Paste them into text documents?

Reminds me of when I used to archive (manually, typed) my text messages... gosh I need a new phone, haha.

I actually receive all notifications/private messages in my Outlook, which is synchronized to my e-mail. If i don't delete them manually on my gmail account, they stay there. Also i keep an archive of my old message on a backup HDD, as well as my main account .pst file.
So they're saved at two different place automatically. Like cgbier said, you can always copy/paste it in a .txt somewhere else if you want to be sure!
Works fine for me with Outlook (with the .pst located on a backup HDD!). So when i format, i just replace the automatically generated .pst file by my own.
Never lost a message since 3 years.
Have anyone noticed the option? (see picture)
My advice!:hv20-smilie77:

Oh yeah, good point. I could organize all of the email notifactions into a folder with a filter or something.

Here my inbox
There's a preview of the message and the link to the post itself.
Same goes fot the PM, you have the complete PM in the preview window. Best way for me to keep them. Hope it helps!:hv20-smilie77:
