I'm actually quite embarrassed to ask this question, but... well here goes...

I need a lens hood/matte box ASAP so I've been looking at what to get that would fit well with my 50mm Nikon Nikkor-S lens. Here's the embarrassing part, I can't figure out if that "50mm" is the thread size. I know that sounds really dumb, but I've looked up other "50mm Nikon Lenses" and some have writing on the sides stating they were "52mm" ect. The only numbers I can find are on the top that read "Nikon Nikkor-S Auto 1:1.4 F=50mm 1073151" and on the sides the F stops and distant numbers. I'm assuming its a 50mm thread lens, but damn, I don't know. I don't have any filters of that size, only a 58 which is bigger and a 43 which is obviously smaller. Please help me on this. I've never felt so stupid.

Ok so once I figure out the thread size, I would be able to buy this:

With the proper xxMM to 62MM step up ring and it would fit, correct?
I plan on adding one or two of these:

because I need a lens shade ASAP and I don't want to use the cheap ebay one I use for my stock HV.

Please help me! I have a very important shoot next weekend and I plan on using my jag pro out doors but I have no lens shade for my nikon lens.
Thank you in advance!

If you Google "Nikkor-S Auto 1.4" you will have your answer.
