What all kind of video can the HV20 record via inputs?

So Composite through the AV input (AV to DV ON) and HDV/DV through the Firewire connection (AV to DV Off) p69-71 of the manual. (also available as a .pdf file if you dont yet have the camera.)

Using the firewire input it's DV though, not HDV right?

"Video input will be recorded on the tape in the same standard of the original (HDV or DV)" p70 UM.
If not HDV then people would not claim that the only way to see edited HDV is via the HV20?
