This weekend I shot an indoor event with my new XH-A1S in manual mode. It was a celebration in a hall with 200 people, lasted 6 hours and had a mixture of tungsten, flourescent and dance smart lights towards the end. I only captured a few hours of highlights and after watching the tapes today, I am quite happy with the results as I was able to balance my exposure and zoom/focus with good clarity.

That being said, I have also been shooting various things outdoors and have noticed that some of the footage appears to have flickering, or shifts in and out white, almost looking overexposed. It almost looks as if the camera is in automatic mode trying to auto-focus. It was most noticeable while shooting into a forest of trees and leaves on a sunny and cloudy day.

I've tried a combination of turning on the ND, fast shutter, closing the aperture, using negative gain and I still see it. Am I missing something here with the setup or filtering?

I am interested to hear how you experienced shooters setup for bright and reflective environments with your xh-a1s, thank you!

I solved my supposed overexposed issue.....it was my deck that was showing my captured footage incorrectly. When I captured the footage on my PC it was sharp with no blowouts or flicker.

Im having a similar issue, Today we were on location shooting a scene. We were using the Xha1,s With the Handy35 dof adapter. (like always) We changed lenses to a 100mm 2.8. Here's the problem, hopefully someone can help with. The actor was standing in front of a sign(we were shooting upwards at him) when he moved from in front of the sign, and the backround changed, the picture flickered, like it was changing exposure. IT DID IT EVERYTIME HE DID THE SAME MOVEMENT. We were shooting in MANUEL MODE, NO AGC, NO AWB, The white balance was set to pre, and 5,000k. we were using the avg. film preset.

hope an A1 can help. it's gonna bug me till i figure out the problem.
Oh, and it only did it after we switched to the 100mm lens
