do you guys know if super walmart sells anything like faux fur or something similar that would yield good wind suppression on the stock hv20 mic?

Don't know about the do-it-yourself Walmart route. But this company, TheWindCutter.com, sells stick on mic covers for consumer camcorders. I've purchased two of their fuzzy wind screens for my external mics and received them promptly. They work well. But I can't vouch for how well the stick ons perform.

exactly what i was thinking of thanks. just that i will make it myself as 14.95 plus shipping is kinda ridiculous. thanks for your help.

Agree. Just so you know, both of mine shipped with free Priority Mail shipping. There may be a minimum price for that tho.
