Can you use Windows Movie Maker

I am having a hard time capturing my video on Windows Movie Maker
Am I missing some settings?
Can I capture HV 20 Video on the computer with this software? or must I buy something like ULead 11?

Ive used succesfully the Movie Maker in Windows Vista with no problems at all on my PAL HV20.
