Do you attach filters to the HV-20?
If so, what do you recommend?
I like B&W but I cant find any that is 43mm
Is Hoya any good?

B+W does sell a 43mm polarizers. Hoya is okay (I always preferred Tiffen, not sure why now), but the Kaeseman B+Ws are really nice:

I'd also suggest a clear glass filter (not always available, so UV filter will do just fine). That clear/UV filter should be on all the time (unless the polarizer is needed) to protect the cam's lens.
That's really all I can think of: 1) polarizer, 2) clear or UV.
Most other functions can be achieved in post/NLE /additional software.

I use Hoya for the 72mm lens on my DVX100b & love it, I just ordered a Hoya for my future HV20 from B&H:

That Hoya is a lot less expensive than the B+W! :hv20-smilie03:

Can i leave the polarizer on all the time instead of using a UV filter?

Yes, sure. But keep in mind, that they chew up a little bit of light.
So outside when it's sunny it will be great, but indoors when it's dimmly lit, and you need all the light you can get, it may not be so good.....unless, of course, you need it to take away some ghastly reflections off a window! :hv20-smilie81:
Got the B+W Käsemann linear polarizer (went with a 43mm after all). This thing is VERY nice. VERY VERY nice.

I thought you need to use a circular polarizer with the HV20???

Just received my HV20.
The weird thing is that the filter is OUTSIDE the built-in lens cover.
But now if I use a filter, I need to get a lenscap.

my set up is the worst.
HV-20 + filter + cap for the filter + hood + hood cap. So my camera has 3 lens caps, so to speak.

I just picked up 2 squeeze lever type 43mm lens caps on eBay for $12shipped. They fit well enough on both the lens and on a UV filter.

sorry for the noob question, but what are the end result differences between a circular and linear polarized filter?
