Simple smooth text transition After Effects?

I am looking for a way to create a smooth, clean, simple looking text affect in after effects.

Like if a movie were to play, the smooth fade in fade out text that slighty moves left or right....

I really don't know where to begin as far as to achieve this, but i'm sure it's simple.

Please help me.

I don't use AE, but in Vegas I would keyframe the text so that it rapidly appears, maybe with some motion blur, then moves slowly across for a fade out. It looks like they may have used a mask to reveal the text as it enters quickly from the left-hand side. It's not that difficult. The "coming soon" text would be similar from the rhs. I have no idea about the electric-type stuff going on. Hope this helps.
