Email notification

Hey guys... I don't wanna piss off anybody but I did search for this and I couldn't find an answer.

I just wanna know is there a way for the HV20 forum to send email notiications when I get a reply from a post or a thread that I'd made? So that I don't have to keep checking every post that I did to see if anyone replied!

I only see a subscribe option but I don't want to subscribe to any threads I just wanna see if anyone replied to my posts! Just like how you get email notifications on youtube when someone comments on your videos.

I'm pretty sure clicking "Subscribe" is how you do that. Subscribing to a thread will notify you through email every time someone responds to a thread.

Yup: Thread Tools | Subscribe to Thread (and of course, make sure the e-mail address associated with your profile is accurate).

So does this mean I have to subscribe to every thread I make a post on???! But subscribing to a thread means I get an email notification at evrybody's posts and stuff rite? I only want notifications for replies to my posts... thts all!

How would any system know that someone is replying to YOUR post...other than if part of your post is quoted I guess. I don't think there's a plugin for that. I might check it one day....if I don't forget...

Obviously if it's quoted rite! not just any random reply! Same as youtube... someone replies to your comment, you get an immediate notification right away! That's a very convenient and very useful plugin if you ask me... rather than having to go through the hassle of checking every post you did and subscribing to every thread that you posted!

It'd be great if you can do that for this forum... just something which would improve the template of this forum IMO.

But there is a tool to get that info faster . . .
Press the "New Posts" link above.
In the pages that show all new posts, you can identify the posts you contributed in. Those icons namely show the text "New Post" in blue.

Again that is everybody's new posts. I'm talking about just mine.

Like if I made a few posts and I'm eagerly waiting for the reply... I don't have to keep signing in on the forum and check every thread where I made a post to see if anyone replied. Rather if there was an email notification, it'd make life a lot easier. Just a thought... if it could be implemented, nothing like it!

Go to your profile and look at your posts. Any posts with a cyan "New Post" icon you can click and go to.
