Hi ...

I've found Eugenia's blog to be quite outstanding in so far as helping me learn to appropriately prepare HD content for Vimeo ...

That said ...

Regarding my HV30 content that I shoot in 30P and then want to burn to a standard DVD, should the deinterlace options be the same?

Sort of curious about this as I'm putting together a DVD for a family member that will be played on a regular DVD player (non HD) and would like to make sure my project properties (deinterlace, field order) are set correctly in Vegas.

Mostly I've just prepared stuff for Vimeo and so don't know if I should stick with those same settings for this soon to be rendered DVD content.

Thanks for any assist.

If you shoot 30p, there is no field dominance. If you shoot 60i, both HDV and DVD are even field first.

Project property - NTSC DV Widescreen

Field order - progressive

8-bits

deinterlace - none

If you use computer monitor for preview:

Color Corrector - template Studio RGB to Computer RGB, while editing. Before rendering, use template reset to none. This is only to get the DVD-color on your monitor.
Open another Color Corrector if you are to correct color.

Timeline - pan/crop - right click - match output to avoid black bars.
