I have always had this problem.
When I'm ready to export my video from Final Cut Pro,
the colors in the export are slightly different from what is seen in the preview of FCP.
I think the contrast is a little less, and black is not black anymore.
I used Magic Bullet with FCP on Mac OSX.
See attachment for example.

Thanks for the help?

if you go into quicktime and choose preferences, check and see if Enable Final Cut Studio Color Compatibility. See if that changes playback of the export.

I can't see that specific part in Quicktime Preferences.
But it still won't solve the problem, right? Would the colors be the same as FCP when I would play it on TV? Might try that out.

Oh I just discovered QT has several issues with handling gamma on images.
I tried to play with VLC, it's slightly better, but still different from FCP's preview.
I'll try to see what my TV does.

It most likely would solve the problem. You need to have QT Pro to see that feature. It comes with FCP (unless you got FCP through less than legal means).

If you want to see what your TV does, then you should connect your TV to the computer. As a rule, you should monitor your output on the device on which your final product is supposed to play on to get the colors right.

Final cut pro displays your video a bit darker gamma wise to "simulate a broadcast monitor" on your computer screen, it re-adjusts it on export to proper view(for an computer screen). Outputted on a broadcast monitor or TV it would be closer to what you see in final cut pro. If your output is for computer monitors(ie web) you should be aware of this and adjust the gamma of your final video if you want it to be closer to what final cut pro shows.
