Hey guys
I don't seem to be able to switch the camera to "DV locked". I want to be able to capture footage in SD.
I'm in the PLAY/OUT SETUP but my only menu options are
AV/PHONES
PHONES VOL.
COMP.OUT

Is there any way of getting to the DV OUTPUT that I'm not seeing?

It says in the manual that there is PLAY/OUT SETUP1 and SETUP2 but I can only find 1.

I also can't find
PLAYBACK STD
TV TYPE
OUTPUT CH.
AUDIO OUT
MIX BALANCE
or
DV OUTPUT

Do I need a firmware upgrade or something?

You should be able to use the joystick to go up and down the main list and you should see two icons with a "1" and "2" in them.

First, turn off the camera and unplug all cables (except power) and then turn it back on to play mode. Press the "func" button and use the joystick to go down to the bottom choice and then press in on the joystick again.

If you don't have seven icons on the left side, you may very well have a problem with the camcorder and should contact the retailer or Canon about it.

Holy shit I was crapping myself then.

I switched it over to PLAY mode (Was is Camera mode).

I leave the post up in case some other poor soul noobie is going through what I just went thru.
