This contest is communist. It was never specified in the original rules that there was no advertising - nor that you needed 2 weeks of membership to vote. Those sleepless nights for this contest were basically meaningless now thanks to that dope-loving _____bag dylan, who feels like adding rules everyday. Oh his next rule will probably be something like: you need a 35mm adapter to win, or this movie needed to be under 3 min. to win. ____ you ____.. Its easy for you to click buttons, since you didn't do ____. All the hard work was put by the filmmakers. This contest is officially run by people who lack judgment and common sense. I'm going to real contests were the rules aren't made up everyday. Peace.

Actually, that was specified (http://www.hv20.com/showpost.php?p=227770&postcount=116) a couple of pages previous to the place in the same thread where YOU YOURSELF asked for (http://www.hv20.com/showpost.php?p=229200&postcount=143) (and were granted (http://www.hv20.com/showpost.php?p=229309&postcount=149)) a bending of the rules.

That you were only too happy to accept a rules change which worked in your favor, while at the same time thumbing your nose at previous rules changes which did not, says more about your character than your vulgar post ever could.

Indeed; although it is the same if someone would make a castle out of matchsticks and then smash it all to bits as soon as it's finished.

It does indeed seem pointless and counterproductive to sabotage one's own work like that - as conradstudios did.

Lmao, nice. When i discovered his advertising, i wasn't going to disqualify him, because i hadn't put it in the rules at the beginning (but i knew he had read that i said no advertising). I firmly told him to take down all of his advertising, and he replied by lying to me, saying he had no advertising up, and editing the advertisements he had on other forums. He also tried to incriminate another member for cheating, which turned out to be false. So i made the decision to disqualify him, which i didn't want to do, but i felt was necessary. Oh well, i guess thats what i get for being a communist.

firstly much kudos for running this forum and contest but....call me thin skinned but I think it an error of judgement to lower yourself to the level of the other party in question by changing his avatar like that.

That action is truely taking advantage of your power such as his "communist" jibe would dictate and it belittles you and extends a sour atmosphere over this competition which is a shame considering all the efforts you have put into it.

Flint, i want to make this very clear. Conrad was not disqualified for disagreeing with me, he was disqualified for putting up advertisements on other websites, and when i asked him to take them down, he lied to me about it and said they didn't exist. Furthermore, his avatar was censored because it was a direct insult directed towards me (personal attacks are not allowed on this forum). Some of your other points:

Now your spreading lies, Conrad (http://www.hv20.com/member.php?u=16788) is still an active member of the forum, he was not removed.

Why are you attacking Mal? He had almost nothing to do with any of this, every decision was made by me, so if you have a problem, direct it this way.

Again, another lie. A simple search (http://www.hv20.com/showthread.php?t=15549) would have made it incredibly obvious to you that their WAS cheating during the last contest, and they were disqualified as well.

The fact is, i will run this contest the way i want to, and the only person that can tell me to change it is Mal, so unless he has a problem, this is the way these contests will be run. I have a lot of respect for you Flint, and you are a great contributor to this community. I'm not going to delete your post, and i sure as hell am not going to delete you for expressing your opinion.

I deleted certain posts that complain about my changing of conrad's avatar, and all the follow-up messages.

Now back to your regular scheduled competition...

I didn't know it was insulting to you on account of someone congratzing your alteration for it being funny, so I took that as you disrespecting him. I can't prove that isn't the case because you altered entries, leading me to think I'm being lead a stray.

No more altering/deleting entries! That's still pretty weak and confusing, even though you did it for the "right" reasons.

I competed in the last short shorts and there wasn't any talk of cheating. Speculation, sure, but no one was convicted to my knowledge. If they were, we need to make that WAY more public. Like, WAY more public.

I mean is all this communist discussion over conradstudios still relevant? It was a week ago and he's out of the contest, either he'll follow the rules of the next contest or he won't compete.

As for Dylan and Mal taking the action they did, this is their contest and they can run it how they please. Whether you disagree with it or not is your own personal matter, but this is not a forum or contest run by the public. It is run by these guys, which means they get to make the decisions.

I say we get on with the judging and in a more serious manner start speculating about HD Shorts 4 or whatever the next contest should be.

Again this is simply my own personal opinion but seeing as everyone is giving theirs I thought I'd join in.
