Where to buy lens hood for Raynox HD 7000?
I've been searching everywhere but didn't find hood for 82mm size of this Raynox model. Pls any info.

Also what is size of front filter for Canon WD-58?

I use lens hood of "HD Video Lens 6x Zoom XL 3.4-20.4mm L".

1. You can order the lens hood from camera shop as repair parts. Product ID is "D52-0340-000000". I paid 3,732 Japanese yen(about $40) for the hood.

2. Next, you get rubber sheet which is 2 millimeters thick and double-faced tape.

3. You put up rubber sheet which is cut to the proper size with double-faced tape in two spots of hood.

4. You place hood in HD-7000Pro and screw tightly.

I bought one from Adorama, but because it was slightly bigger than the HD7000's OD, I had to make a step-up ring, in a lathe . . .

It's not the same seller but product is the same. This hood is aluminum, very good for the money but it's not too deep of course, because it is for wide angle lens. I'm pretty satisfied with it.
I quit trying too find rectangular one because I didn't find 82mm model. Yes you can add step up ring and go for a bigger model, but for me it will look too big for that camera.

What exactly do you need to know?

Its a wide angle lens meaning it allows you to see more in a shot at a given distance. It similar to moving further away only there are situations that won't allow you to or you don't want to.

Pros, it allows you to use the full zoom range of your camera through it (though if you are zooming in, you might just want to take it off). Cons, It's big and heavy and finding 82mm accessories is a pain. The similar Raynox SRW6600-58 0.66x lens is lighter, but only allows you to use your camera's zoom for 1-5x before you have issues.

First I just want to thank you for taking the time for helping me here, Im very fortunate to have stumbled upon this website. Ive had nothing but friendly advice which I am very grateful for. Ill be frank, Im a virgin with a video camera but Im well rounded in photography. I decided to expand my horizons...

Two of my close friends and I plan to spend the next few years traveling and fishing around the globe and I plan to film everything. I saw this raynox hd 7000 in the accessories on BH's website, "wide angle lens". I thought, "who wouldnt want a bigger picture". I plan to use a polarized lens when necessary and I want to know if that will have any ill effects when im fully zoomed in or out while the polarized lens is attached. And is it possible or maybe better to get a polarized lens for the inside then attach the 82mm lens to that? One more question, does this lens have any adverse effects to the picture quality?

I know my wife complained about vignetting when putting the HD7000 on the 58mm polarization filter on her Photocamera and the videocamera. THat's when I told her to leave the filter out between... So no, that'd be a real bad idea.

If you can test it, test a 82mm filter to the end of the convertor... I say test, since it might still take away some light from the sensor, and an 82mm polar might be utterly expensive...

Picture quality... didn't zoom in a lot, and yet have to look at the results on a big screen. It's okay for me so far, but you might notice it is slightly less sharp than without convertor.

Hey thanks for the info! Yes that particular 82mm polarized lens is very pricy and I will test it on my bigscreen.
