Hello,

In searching the internet there is allot of information about removing the 3:2 Pulldown. In searching particularly for this camera it appears that quite a few people are using Cineform's NeoScene to edit the AVCHD and to do the 3:2 pulldown. But there are some people saying that After Effects and JES Deinterlacer do a better job at guessing the cadence since Canon doesn't flag the frames.

I was wondering what the best solution for doing the 3:2 pulldown is and is using Cineform the best editing option for 24P AVCHD for this camera.

I think the cheapest option would be to use TMPGEnc although I haven't checked the pricing on neoscene recently. Neoscene is a one trick pony (and a possibly very good one) but TMGEnc can do a whole lot more.

AE CS4 can do it but it's a very clunky way of doing things. Best stick to one of the above 2 methods.

I suggest Cineform NeoScene+CoreAVC. First, try this though http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2008/01/04/canon-avchd-24p-pulldown-removal/

Thanks for your hard work putting this together. Finally done this last week. More i learn the more i have questions for you. I think i did this right though. But do you always have to end up with bigger files than the original??
Also vegas movie studio only has 720P for rendering. To have a 1080P render do i have to invest in a better NLE. Any recommendations. THANX THANX THANX

Thanks for your help.

What is Core AVC? It sounds like it' a codec but isn't NeoScene a codec also? What is their relationship?
