Finally, I got my first HD wedding job deal today. The client only wants HD wedding video. They told me they looked around vendors in Southern California, there are me and only 1 other vendor provide such service (I thought there should be more).

Here's the package
- Two camcorders (XH-A1 and HV20) shooting 12 hours
- Post Production and DVD/BD authoring
- 4 copies of DVD
- 4 copies of BluRay Disc
- Photo Montage slideshow

I have it listed as $4,250 and give them a $1,000 off. So the final price is $3,250. They cut me a deposit check right away! Yay!

Congrats man, that sounds awesome. I've yet to get my first gig, although its kinda hard for people to take you seriously when you're 15. I have won a scholorship video contest for $1,500 though :hv20-smilie87:

Woow! that's amazing! What's your video piece is? the one you won the contest.

I saw one of your footage before you shot around in your campus. That was pretty awesome!

Maybe you can come with me and be my assistant on the wedding. Then someday you can be a professional videographer :)

Congratulations.

Looking at what I spent on photography gears over the years, I should start working as a part time wedding photographer. Maybe this can support my new video hobby.

Well, it isn't that easy to get to this point. You have to have lots of good work to show potential customers. I started out charging $800 for a full day wedding using 1 Sony TRV900 cam a couple of years ago.

For my HD investment, so far here's the breakdown,

- HV20+WA $1100
- XH-A1+WA $3800
- New QuadCore Computer $2000
- Matrox RTX2 card $1300

It's already $8200. There are also smaller items like extra batteries, charger, shotgun mic, remote mic, tripods, video lights...

The next thing to buy is a BluRay burner.

Isn't it great that we are getting paid doing our hobbies? I like that very much...very much.:hv20-smilie81:
