I can easily record SD analog video to my HV30 from my Motorola 6416-III DVR without problems. But I want to try to record HD footage from the DVR to the HV30 via firewire from the DVR. I know how to record TO the HV30. And the DVR's firewire port IS working since I can record "Copy Freely" material to my MacBook Pro (via Firewire SDK). But I just cannot get the HV30 to see the video input via firewire. Has anyone been successful in doing this? Perhaps it's the format of the digital signal (transport streams) that's the problem for the HV30. (The reason why I want to have the HD video record to the HV30 is that it's easier to work with the video in Final Cut Pro (clip logging and so forth) using the HV30 and having it archived on tape.)

You probably won't be able to make that work, as the HV30 strictly requires HDV standard, which the stream coming from your DVR is not.
