I need help to get my capture working.

I have a Canon HV30 and I will edit on Premiere CS3 or CS4. Output is on HDV in the camera menu on my HV30. Premiere is got the right profile for capturing. I can control the camera from premiere but i cant capture. The rec button is greyed out. I can capture in regular DV but not in HDV.
So after two nights of constant trying to work it out I start looking for other software to capture my videos. I still want to edit in premiere later.
Seems like everyone is using HDVSplit. But I cant get it to work. When I start it up it says "Camcorder is not recognized or connected".
How do I fix HDVSplit so it works with HV30?
The DVHS driver link does not work from Pavikos site (http://strony.aster.pl/paviko/hdvsplit.htm). Do I really need it? Can someone upload it?
How do you capture HDV with your Canon HV30?

Many questions, hope you can help me with some of them.
