What are the setup modes that "work" with FCP and the HV20 for different shooting modes? I see the camera has options for HDV or DV output. I've edited ok (just got the camera recently) with 1080i60 mode. Should I use DV output when shooting 480i with the camera? I'm getting timecode not found errors when trying to edit a test clip shot in 480i.

There are 130 threads on FCP. Is your answer in there?

No, I don't believe it is. All threads regarding capture format refer to 25p, which is of no interest to me.

A search for "480i capture" returns no relavent threads.
A search for "Log Capture" in the mac editing format returned no useful information as well.

Thanks for the help.

Choose easy setup from the menu, select your format, then go to log and capture, should capture at the right setting.

I'm asking WHICH format to select for different shooting modes. Some seem not to work as expected.

The best I've been able to glean is that Canon has some issues with Firewire. Therefore, you MUST select "Firewire Basic" in easy setup. (I don't have the window in front of me, but "Basic" is the keyword.)

This works for DV only, not HDV. I haven't been able to get HDV into Final Cut Express yet. (Always get "End of tape" when it's not the end of tape.)

Hope this helps.
