Edit: I'm sorry Mal, I just noticed this was for the new camcorder that hasn't been released. I saw the workflow for the HV20 24P but not a workflow just for the HV20 in general.

First is this the right place to ask an camera operation question about the HV20?

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with any of the Marker settings. If so did you find them useful and how would you use them? If they've been available on any of my SD cameras, I wasn't aware of them and I'm just not familiar with them and when I might want to use them. I think one of them is to indicate areas that you're framing that might be too bright or maybe too dim. I'm not sure I sure how to use them.

For those who aren't sure what I'm speaking about they are under Display/Setup which is the 4th icon down in the menu settings. I might as well hit you with the "Assist Func." also which has a couple settings called "Zebra (70%)" & "Zebra (100%)" plus something called Peaking.

I can dig a little further in the manual but I mainly wondered if anybody found the above settings that are offered to be pretty useful.

I've been using the Zebra's at 70%. That gives me a good indication of where my blown out sections are and I can adjust the exposure appropriately. Having about 20-25% of the view screen with zebra's seems to work out fairly well for me. Nothing is really blown out and nothing seems terribly underexposed. That's what I've been using in full daylight anyhow. Haven't done very much indoors yet but I'd assume that the same would likely carry over.
