The new kid on the block is with his new camera HV 20, I have a question about striping, do I need to? Because I have always done it on my old standard definition canon and I don't want to wear the heads out on my new HV 20 unnecessarily. The manual does not appear to mention anything about striping.
And by the way discussion on expensive tape or not, I have come to the conclusion from past experience with magnetic tapes that the old audio tapes vary in quality not only on particle definition but also on the final coating . The cheaper tapes had very thin protective coating or no coating and all, and the oxide would dirty and wear out the heads very fast. I don't know if that would apply to the modern tapes we are using. But it is a thought.:hv20-smilie03:
