Bad captures and no ability to preview in FCP 5

I'm able to capture clips from my HV. However they come out blurred and looks like its missing frames. Also, I can't see the video in the log and capture preview window or when I am capturing. I have to look at the cam!

My A/V Settings are:

Sequence = HDV 1080i60
Capture = HDV
Control = HDV Firewire

Any ideas guys?

Try FCP 5.1.4 I think (not 100% sure) that's where the full native HDV support came in for FCP

Also, check your playback settings at the head of the timeline. It's possible you're seeing a 'blurred' version because it's just not playing back at highest quality, not because the actual files are blurry.
