I purchased an HV30 in September of last year. I have had it for a total of three weeks. The rest of the time it was in for repair. I got it back yesterday and it still has the same problem: the camera is not detected when plugged into the computer via firewire. When connecting I power off everything, connect the camera to the computer, turn on the camera, then turn on the computer. This is supposed to prevent power surges which can burn out boards. I am having no luck with this camera. Perhaps it is a lemon. Any thoughts?
