XH-A1 Clunk sound during startup and shutdown

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a used XH-A1 and I'm just wondering if the camera is supposed to be making a clunk sound when you start it up and shut it down?

I recorded videos and everything seems fine, even transfered to my computer and no problems there either.

How loud a clunk are we talking? Mine makes a little whirr-fchunk-fchunk noise when it boots up but you have to put your ear up to it to really notice.

Mine makes a whir, soft clunk that I think is just spooling the tape and taking up the slack.

Nothing too loud, but you can notice it when you turn the cam on and off. It's probably normal then. Thanks for the replies!

I think that's normal. Mine does the same thing. My guess is that it's the Image Stabilization (IS) engaging. I also use an HVX on occasion and whenever it's turned off you can hear the IS (which is off when powered down) clunking around.
