I have these mics, would any of them work for the hv30 on a boom pole, or attached to the camera itself? (I have an xlr converter)

NT1A (http://www.zzounds.com/item--RODNT1A)
NT2A (http://www.zzounds.com/item--RODNT2A)
NT4 (http://www.zzounds.com/item--RODNT4)

Thanks

I'm really new to camcorder audio, and microphones in general, but what are you booming for? That should make it easier for people to help.

I'm thinking about buying an NT2A for interviews in quiet places and recording music. Killing two birds with one stone is nice. As for booming a mic, shotgun mics are the way to go.

For indoor or outdoor shooting?

Check out the excellent audio tutorials (http://www.youtube.com/user/juicedLink) on YouTube, done by a member of this board. I think the only thing he doesn't have for sale is the glasses in the earliest videos! :)

It's the most approachable treatment of some complicated information I've seen.

Ty's really impressive. Every time I listen to his stuff, it reminds me how little I know.

He's not far from me - I have to get up to take one of his workshops!
