There's a coupon online that you can print out and bring to the store for 10% off certain items:
http://dealmac.com/deals/Best-Buy-pr...rs/167043.html
I took that in today, but the camera cost $1099 in the store, while online it is $967. I informed the clerk about the online price and he said they match that. So, 10% off that puts it down around $871.
Tax popped it back up over $900, but that's OK, still cheaper than just about anywhere else.
The coupon expires 5/13.
(oh - did anyone manage to snag one last week when ecost had them for $825??? God, I wish I had been paying attention that day)

I tried this today and they said their computer wouldn't take the 10% discount after modifying the amount to match the online price. :(
Guess I'll have to just get one through one of the current mail-order deals.

I just tried this and got shot down. They would match the web price but the 10% coupon clearly shows as excluding "high def camcorders" so it was a no go. YMMV (This was at Best Buy)

Well, I certainly didn't read far enough to see "high definition camcorders" as an exception.
Guess I got away with one there! The clerk didn't read it, either, or seem to care.

FYI,
I was able to get the current web site price of $967.99 and a 12% discount. I bought my HV-20 last Friday (one week ago). I went to the store and spoke to someone in customer service and was given the discount. Total $851.83. Keep in mind I originally paid $1099.00.
The clerk did have a problem with the coupon as other had mentioned. Keeping that in mind I highlighted the part on the coupon which states "camcorders $279 & up" - don't magicians call this miss direction? He didn't have a clue as to whether it was Hi-Def or not.
Since he couldn't get the coupon to work, he manually applied the credit.
Here is a link to the coupon:

Good luck
