High Desert Opera New Year's Eve Gala 2008 (http://www.berighteous.com/2008galab.asx)
hi!
This is what I do. This was shot from the balcony with 3 HV20's. Audio is from a Rode Videomic on my wide shot stationary cam. The slides in the titles and bonus feature were actual grabs from the video, and look most excellent on the DVD.
This video is in 3 parts - Titles, Act 2, and bonus feature. Act 2 is about an hour and 7 minutes. The bonus feature is a 12 minute slide show with about 280 stills from the production. Act 2 is more interesting and accessible and better shows what I've figured out about using HDV footage in an SD project. If you want to see the whole 2 and a half hours visit www.HighDesertOpera.org (http://www.HighDesertOpera.org)
This is my first full length production shot in HDV. I edited in SD, but used the footage at full res, so I could scale, zoom, pan, follow people around, and frame the shots I wanted. This was a full production shake down to see what I could do with the technique.
By Act 2 I had figured out what I could get away with and am more creative with zooming and moving around in post.
This was edited in Premiere Pro CS3.
