This was shot with the Nikon D90. The song is called Give Me Change, and the band is Edroy. I had been looking around for a band to do a video for and I didn't find any that I was interested in doing a video for, besides Danny Leeds. I'm a musician/ composer before anything else (although I stopped being in bands 2 years ago) and I decided to sort of write a song that represented what is in the back of my mind as far as the type of band I would want to do a video for. So, I wrote this song, and got Amanda to do the vocals. I wrote the lyrics. She doesn't even know what the song is about, haha! Anyhow, this isn't my style of music as for how I usually play and write. I'm really more interested in Avant Garde' stuff.
But, back to the video. I was happy to be able to recruit my long time friend Ryan Melanson to play the guitar in the video, Amanda did the vocals (like I said) Liran Yaniv did the bass, and I am on the drums. In reality, I recorded all parts , minus the vocals. We shot all of the video in a house, and used some green screen (which I HATE doing). I was the set designer, make up guy, and costume designer-except for Ryan, and the video took about 8 hours to shoot. It however took about 30 hours to edit. I used Final Cut Pro , and by the way I used Garage Band to record the music on.
We also used 10 lights varying in wattage, from 600 to 100 watts, and some dimmers. We used a dolly, a manfrotto tripod, a boom, a diy steadycam, and I think that about covers the basics of what we did.
I think it came out basically how I envisioned it, besides a few bits of chaos that jumped into the project that I decided to just go with, which I tend to do for better or worse, I'm not sure yet.

Ha! I like the track a lot! Makes me think of Sonic Youth and Mudhoney (and being 16 again). I think the indie vibes of the vid are great, and the D90 does have a suitably filmic look. Its alll cut together nicely enough too. I wonder if the vibe would of been enhanced if you'd used actual projections in the room while shooting rather than having an overlay in post. Could maybe of done with a couple of madder lenses for the closeups, and i could of handled a bit more movement from the camera generally, but particularly in the wide shots.

Any way, lots of fun, plenty of vibes, they all look great and she's a hottie!

Thanks nobbystylus, it reminds me of SY too. That film clutter was an afterthought, for fun, so it wasn't in my mind at that point. Good idea.

By the way, the film clutter isn't Artbeat film clutter, its just some I made.

I really like the pacing and edits on this piece, has a nice feel to it all.

Reminiscent of 'Groove is in the Heart' too.

D-90 looks suited for this kinda thing.
Why do you have the MKII in the Tags?

YES!!!, I'm glad you made that connection. I was absolutely going for that with the background, life-savor, coloricious flavors. That made my day!

THe film clutter makes me want to see like gate weave and jitter. It needs MORE damage! But maybe more like real film damage. And grain. The music is awesome. You are lucky to be able to work with such a cool band. I'm trying to find a band to do a video with myself.

Thanks. I wrote and recorded the music. I agree about the damage, but I wasn't sure how far to push it.
