View Full Version : Audio Synch Issue

I am using Cineform Prospect HD & Premiere Pro 2.0, while shooting entirely 24P with the HV20. I am also doing a 3:2 pulldown inverse telecine with the capture utility in Cineform, then playing the footage on the timeline within Premiere and noticing audio synch issues. The audio seems off by 10 - 12 frames?

Any one else experience audio synch issues after capturing in their NLE?

I noticed that there is an "audio rate conversion" option on the Cineform utility to convert "24P to 23.976 (-.1% slowdown)" -- is this something we should be using to fix the problem? If so why didn't they tell us?
I read through all the info on the Cineform website and no mention of this.

I am using Aspect HD, capturing HV20 footage. Video set to "high" quality.

The questions is: Do we need to do an "audio rate change" to keep the audio in synch? I noticer my clips are out of synch on long form captures.

I am using a new Quad Core Intel, 4 GB ram, 2TB raid eSATA3 drives, Windows XP Pro, Premiere Pro 2.0, and the newest Aspect HD update (Jan 18th, 2008).

Any recommendations to maintain audio synch on HV20 footage?
Should I be checking the audio rate change box "23.976 to 24P"?

Why don't you just try checking that box and see what happens?
