I need to export my HD 24p videos (which are uncompressed avi files) to DVD for distribution. I believe that most Blu-ray players could playback highdef videos with AVCHD codec. I don't have a Blu-ray burner yet so my only choice of output is DVD. Plus, my video is only less than 20minutes. I'm sure it will fit on a single 4.75gb disk.

From what I know, only HD-DVD has a *tried and tested* way of doing so:

The Blu-Ray-on-DVD stuff is a proprietary trick of Sony's (something about using a memory stick with AVCHD in it and then burning it to a DVD in the camcorder), and no one knows how to reproduce or even tries to do so. Short of getting a Sony camcorder that supports that, I don't think that there is any other way of doing so. There is nothing under Linux about it either, which is the "hacking" OS.
