There is a ton of good info in the FAQs and Stickies here. Do some searches on the different operational aspects you're interested in and start reading.:hv20-smilie77:

Couldn't agree more.

No better site anywhere to learn about the camera than this one. I've never once had to open my manual. By the time I bought the camera I knew it backwards and forwards.... all from this forum.

Using the HV20 specifically isn't so different from a lot of other cameras, therefore, Metacafe's Production School is a great place to learn to use a camera.

If you just need to know about the HV20 itself, best to read the manual, play around with it lots, and ask questions here.

first determine what type of shooting you think you will be doing the most. i know the forum is not indexed nicely like an encyclopedia but i think there is a lot of good information here at the hv20 if you work at it. what i would do is open up notepad or word document and as you browse around this site and find some snippets that look like they might be useful, copy and paste them to your open notepad or word. this way you'll have some good reference information you can print out and study and even with your camcorder in front of you, try out.

i personally haven't had first hand experience with doing this but i've heard there are some good tutorials on youtube. i'd go there and just do a search on the hv20/hv30, or whichever camera you have. also be sure and check out the video tutorials at juicedlink to help you with improving the sound in your recordings.

now tell us what specific tutorial you would like to see. we may have just formed a 3some here in my neck of the woods - st.louis, and might be lookin' for a good tutorial project to help the hv users here and maybe even develop a little revenue stream on the side. how about "PrevBluTrim Training Videos"?
