How can I import DV footage in FCP on Canon HV20?

What settings in FCP do use so I can import standard DV footage from a Canon HV20? HDV Footage works well, but I can't get footage from a DV tape (4:3). And should I use Apple intermediate codec to edit with 2 formants? Thanks.

I don't think the HV20 can play a tape from another camera, if that's what you are asking.
Can anyone confirm this?

The HV20 can play any standard mini-dv tape. To bring DV footage in make sure the output settings on the camera are set to DV, plug into computer and fire up your FCP.
