Ok, I have been all over this forum regarding 24p pulldown and editing in premiere. I have Pro CS2 and just upgraded to CS3. My question is, and please forgive me if it has been answered, If you use aspect HD or cineform or even neroHD to capture your footage and remove pulldown, at that point when you edit in Premiere what preset do you chose?

Do you edit in 24p preset or will it be in normal DV (I guess 29.97)

I did a test and tried to capture a clip and picked the 24p preset and then tried normal DV. When I edited in the timeline there was major ghosting and blurring in both presets. They may have even been interlacing lines. It was mainly when any movement took place in the shot. Anyway, I converted them both to AVI and burned to DVD. Both clips lost detail and almost looked like VHS. The one clip edited in normal DV did not look as blurry as the one edited in 24p. Again I did not use the above programs to remove pulldown. I just captured straight to the PC through Pro CS2.

Thats why I am wondering if you do use those programs to remove pulldown, What Premiere preset do you edit in? Thanks

Hey GA,

I'm playing around with this whole thing also. What I've done is select New Project, then under the HDV preset, select 720p 30, the change the tab at the top to custom...under custom, I changed the frames per second to 23.97

Now, I can't say that I've done the right thing, because I'm only using a 10 second clip that someone else gave me to try and remove pulldown (for that, I used Cineform Neo).

So, I edited at 24p then exported to dvi.....I'm having a few problems with mpeg looking good!

Again, I'm still learning. I don't even have a camera yet.
