tripods

hey, i tried to search this, but i was slightly hasty and couldn't exactly find what i was looking for.

as i'm doing my research on tripod, and trying to save money at the same time, some tripods say they have a 2/3 way pan head, or a 2/3 way fluid head.

is pan head and fluid head the same, or different? *confused*

Hi Amsilent & welcome to the forum.

Pan head is simply one allowing you to pan the camera from side to side & usually up & down as well......most tripods will have pan heads.

A Fluid head is one where the panning movements are damped by oil or other fluids. This makes it easier to get a smooth panning shot.
