Please tell me if this ISN'T manual control:
I turn the HV20 on in Camera
I enter P mode
I set to shutter priority and set the shutter speed to 60
I enter manual focus
I use focus assist and manually spin the focus wheel and get focus
I exit focus assist
I press START and begin taping
I press SET
I enter EXP
I adjust very slowly one step at a time pausing a few seconds to +8
then quickly back to 0 then very slowly one step at a time pausing to -8
then I quickly go back to 0
I press STOP
I switch back to AUTO
I enter Play mode
I select Data such that I get exposure and shutter speed on the LCD
I press play and watch the video
I can see the video step by step eventually over exposing (brightens) then it goes to normal then step by step it gets underexposed (darkens.)
I can see that the shutter speed stays at 60
The aperture setting indicated on playback did not read, if I remember correctly, very much change as I went to +8 but it did change every step of the way as I went from about 0 to -8. So maybe the ND filter was entering the picture as I went to +8 and didn't engage as I went to -8. It was a very bright sunny day w/ a clear sky so the ND filter most certainly was engaged.
Is it not true that as long as the aperture is 2.0 to 11.0 or so that gain will not be added? So we can assume there was no gain added.
It's my hope that under more modest and controlled lighting conditions the ND filter will be less of a factor lending more control viv-a-vis the manual aperture control while in the shutter-priority mode.
Therefore is this not manual control? Sort of? :hv20-smilie51:
