I've just got a hv20 for 12 hours.
It looks good on the hv20's LCD, but when I connect it to a standard tv using the av cable, the color on the tv looks too red and dark, the contrast is too big.
It looks quite different with the lcd.

I check this forum, other people also have this problem.

Someone told me using av cable is not a good way. Is it so bad that make the hv20 even worse than a normal camerarecoder?

Attaching my hv20 to a standard def television vis the AV cable shows a beautiful, rich image, so my experience does not match yours.

I don't know who else has this problem, but I would suggest it may be some issue with how you are connecting.

What are you other choices? There's no s-video so you're pretty much stuck with the AV out until you get an HDTV.

I captured the video to pc and burned a dvd.
The dvd looks good on TV using a dvd player.

I would not upgrade to a HDTV since I do not watch TV often.

Could it be maybe that either your tv or your monitor isn't calibrated properly? :hv20-smilie51:

I am sure my pc monitor is ok. I use a Digital SLR and make photo on this monitor.
